The strange thing called Life!
What a strange thing this Life is! It’s so different for everyone; for every single soul in this world. There are thousands who are born in a day in certain parts of this world and bring happiness in the respective families and the same day itself, thousands others who lose their lives. Some celebrate the birth of a new member in their family yet others mourn over the tragic loss in the family. The worst part is, when you have to step in and congratulate one of your cousins/friends for arrival of a new born or over his/her fantastic performance in the exams or some other great news and participate in the celebrations and the second moment you need to sympathize with some other cousin/friend who is losing his/her loved one, due to some fatal disease/ accident or for some other sad news. Over and above, you have to deal with strange events erupting in your own life. I am right here; right in the middle of complete bewilderment as to how I should be reacting while balancing my mood considering my own current status. Struggling with the challenges that life has thrown at me; wondering why misery and achievement have to co-exist. Why can’t LIFE be the same for everyone? Why can’t it be full of love and fun moments all the time? Why is Life the way it is? Alas! There’s no answer and there will never be!

Rhetorical questions do not need answers, still everybody gets his/her own :) Why Life can't be full of love and fun moments...there is a very good proverb: the worth of a thing is best known by the want of it. Misery and achievement exist simultaneously because you can't accept and appreciate the one without the other. It's like black and white. Life can't be the same for everyone because everyone is different in everything... and in his attitude to life, first of all :) That's my way of looking at it...
ReplyDeleteThere are always moments in life "when we feel we are the smallest doll in the Babushka-doll". This a phrase I have heard in the song of one Australian comedian. I don't know why, but as soon as I have read your post. Parul, it immediately occured in my mind! .)
ReplyDeleteEkaterina, I agree with you to some extent and i am aware of the proverb too. It is indeed important to have a positive outlook in life, which also helps one to move on in life, however there are times when a person feels helpless at the circumstances which are beyond one's control. Things like, poverty, unemployment, health issues, failure in exams etc. are still under one's control and with some reasonable care and diligence one can overcome an unpleasant situation like that. However, there is one thing that is beyond anyone's control - Death of a loved one! Time heals everything! Indeed, time definitely teaches a person how to move on in life despite the absence of the dear one. Nonetheless, the bereaved family that is left behind is left to tears forever, in the memories of that loved one!
