Who Said Vampires Exist Not? (Blurbs on Stocker's "Dracula")

Death scary charachters and events together with the magnificent plot and brilliant use of English language makes Bram Stocker's "Vampire" (Dracula) a scandallous, yet an enthrolling blockbaster of its time.
~ ~ ~
Forget the overrated hackneyed "boo" stories as well as their clumsy plots to make even an infrequent reader laugh! Get transported into some other most mysterious though true-to-life world of fear !

This most mesmerising masterpiece of gothic genre is the first book ever to keep you reading desperately to last page with constant shivers runinning down your spine. Who said vampires did not exist?
~ ~ ~
These were my three short blurbs of a famous book written by an American novellist Bram Stocker.
Which one of the blurbs did you like most?
Which blurb could make you buy a book? Why?
Which of the blurbs would not be as successful and perlocutive as planned? Why?
What is the role of word choice in these blurbs? What other synonims would be apropriate?

If you have read the book, too, what blurb could you offer?

If you haven't read the book yet, you can easily read it online on Literature.org by clicking on Dracula by Bram Stocker

  1. When I hear the words "Dracula by Bram Stocker" I start to shiver because of an exitement and an adrenalin in my blood. I'm a big fan of the Dracula, a vampires and other spiteful creatures. That's why I choose the third blurb.

    1. There are a plethora of books which I want to read but, unfortunately, I don't.
I'm not a big fan of reading but I try to fix it.

    2. You know, Irine, I trully enjoy reading, I find pleasure in beautiful use of language (especially English) but I read so seldom. Why? It all has to do with time. I am a reader who adores spending much time turning pages over when reading and REreading the parts I love. So if I start a book I want to be involved in it for quite a long while, without being disturbed by duties that call .)) That's the reason I put reading away - I am not sure I will have enough time for real enjoyment!
But, I did not quite get what surprised you in the film?

  3. Cool, be sure I would read it. I like each of blurbs. You remind me my exiting feelings about that theme(supporting Irine) after watching the film. Nowadays Draculas and vampires became so girlish and sensible...And only Stoker showed us that real Dracula is pitiless and that makes his love weighty. Stoker makes it fabulous! Thank's for my childhood' memories.

    1. Hehe.. Childhood memories .) You made me smile .) I would expect my kids to be watching cartoons in their childhood ,)))
Speaking about the feeling the story evokes in either a reaer or a "watcher", I'm absolutely with you here, girls. Stocker made it brilliant!

What I love about the book is its sophisticated plot nd structure: looks like a rather disorganised assembly of diaries and notes and record book at first, but then one realises all the connections in between them.

Nowing that you like Poe (am I right), I strongly recomend you read the book! It's even much more powerful than the film, I believe. Though Gary Oldman is a wonderful Dracula .)

    4. Bram Stoker's Dracula "- a classic of the genre, a book written by a very beautiful, literate language. Plot of the book captures at once, by reading the first page, and does not let go until the very end. Simply superb described the nature and countryside. Novel consists of letters and diaries heroes . In the mystical world inhabited by mysterious Bram Stoker Dracula, the most famous vampire of all time, and patiently waiting in the wings. Atmosphere novel literally saturated antiquity, passions, hidden flaw.

    5. Full Moon, garlic, bats ... If these words do not leave you indifferent, then I highly recommend to buy this book. Stoker's novel was the impetus that turned Dracula character of folklore hero in the world of literature and cinema. The book is very interesting. There is also a thriller and romance, in general, a very entertaining read. Edition soundly. Pocket-sized, good quality translation and offset. However, publishing "ABC" has always been distinguished a good level of output.
